Our Coronavirus Cover
June 25, 2020
As life slowly returns to normal and many of us begin to plan our next getaway, our thoughts may turn to travel insurance and what protection this can offer for our upcoming trips.
We’re all aware that coronavirus has affected everyone, including businesses, but particularly the travel industry. This has meant that some insurers have had to remove cover related to the coronavirus from their policies completely.
However, at Get Going, we want to reassure our customers that their health is our priority. This is why all of our policies will cover you for necessary emergency medical expenses, should you fall ill with the coronavirus during your trip and need medical assistance. Our policies also provide medical repatriation cover, so should you need to be brought home earlier or later than you previously planned, you’re covered.
Like most current travel insurance policies, customers won’t be able to submit a claim for any other reason related to the coronavirus, such as trip cancellation, curtailment, or abandonment as the coronavirus is now classed as a ‘known event’.
However, if you’re an existing customer whose holiday plans have been affected by coronavirus, we may be able to amend your single trip travel insurance cover dates if you are able to rebook your trip for a later date.
Policies still include standard and award-winning cover that protect trips from all other unexpected circumstances, including delayed departure, trip cancellation and personal possessions. We’re also committed to helping our customers through this troublesome time, so if you need any advice or guidance on what to do if your trip is affected by covid-19 you can visit our frequently asked questions page here, or contact our team for more information.
